Lafarge North America is the largest producer and supplier of aggregates and concrete in the world.
At their facilities in Dundas, ON and St. Constant, QC, rocks and boulders are crushed for use in the road construction industry. Once the rock is crushed it flows through a feeder and onto a conveyor system. The feeder doors, powered by a hydraulic system were causing issues. The doors weren’t
shutting properly, the hose maintenance was costly and time consuming and the hydraulic fluids aren’t environmentally friendly.
With Trans-Quip Inc.’s help, Lafarge Dundas and St. Constant implemented a system that is cost effective, environmentally friendly and keeps the
machinery in proper working condition. A Joyce® power transmission system was installed along with bellows to protect the system from debris. As a
result, Lafarge Dundas now has a system that is sturdy, accurate and dependable.
