North American Pipe and Steel Ltd. of Delta BC cuts and stocks steel tubing and sheeting products in 27 acres of storage space in order to supply thewestern North American market. The company’s Manufacturing Engineer designed a heavy-duty conveyor to handle the movement of stock at their facility. However, a solution was required to raise and lower the conveyor in order to off-load the steel products from their trucks.
Trans-Quip Inc. solved this problem by supplying four 15 ton Joyce Jacks (WJ815-31-UP-T2) to support the converyor bed. By creating a “lifting conveyor” the conveyor can be positioned to accommodate any height of load on trucks. This cost-effective solution allowed the company to eliminate the need for the purchase of additional docks or loading ramps.
